MUD had zelf liever niet de singles "Oh Boy" en "Moonshine Sally" uitgebracht. Maar Chinn en Chapman zetten door. Dit leidde tot een breuk tussen Mud en RAK. Mud vond een nieuwe platenmaatschappij: Private Stock. In Nederland werd deze maatschappij vertegenwoordigd door Philips. Onder dit label maakten ze een elpee met veel eigen werk: "Use your imaginagion" met de hitsingles "L'L'Lucy" en "Show me you're a woman". Ondertussen bleef RAK singletjes en LP's uitbrengen van Mud, zonder dat Mud het daarmee eens was. Zo kon het gebeuren dat er in één jaar op verschillende labels 7 singles uitgebracht werden en wel 3 elpee's. In 1975 werden er ook nog 2 films gemaakt waar Mud een rol in speelde. Mud found another record-company, Private Stock. In Holland this company was represented by Philips. On this label they made a record with a lot of own material: "Use your imaginagion" with the hits "L'L'Lucy" and "Show me you're a woman". Meanwhile RAK kept on lauching singles and LP's by Mud, without their agreement. This was the reason why in one year there were 7 different singles and 3 LPs on the market, from 2 different labels! Op de LP lieten Rob en Ray zien dat ze uitstekend zelf in staat waren goede nummers te schrijven. Ze hadden bij RAK alleen sommige B-kanten voor hun rekening mogen nemen. Vanaf de eerste single bij Private Stock, "L'L'Lucy", werd er tijdens de optredens een vijfde man aan Mud toegevoegd: Andy Ball, toetsenist. Ook in 1976 bleef RAK nog oud werk op de markt brengen. Vooral in Duitsland werd dit nog gekocht.		On the album Rob and Ray proved that the were perfectly capable to write good songs. With RAK they only wrote some of the B-sides of the singles. From the first single with Private Stock, "L'L'Lucy", Mud was accompanied by a keyboard-player named Andy Ball. In 1976 RAK kept bringing old work of Mud on the market. Mainly in Germany this was still bought.
Mud bracht de elpee "It's better than working" uit, met de single "Shake it down". Deze bracht het nog tot een 11de plaats in de hitlijsten. Vervolgens zakte het succes steeds meer. Hun laatste top 30 hit was eind 1976 "Lean on me", een oud nummer van Bill Withers. Dit nummer verscheen op de verzamel LP "Mud Pack" die uit oud materiaal bestond met een paar nieuwe nummers, in Duitsland onder de naam "Reflection" uitgebracht. Na de elpee "As you like it" en de single "Why do fools fall in love / book of love" werd het wat rustiger voor de jongens van Mud en ze gingen meer doen wat ze zelf wilden.		Mud released the album "It's better than working", with the single "Shake it down". This went to the 11th place in the Dutch charts. After that, their succes was dropping. Their last charts-hit was, at the end of 1976, "Lean on me", an old song by Bill Withers. This song appeared on the compilation-album "Mud Pack", mostly containing old material but also some new songs. This album was released in Germany as "Reflection". After the album "As you like it" and the single "Why do fools fall in love / book of love" it became a bit more quiet aroung the boys and they went doing more what they liked to do.
